They Knew… They Always Knew. A raw, heartbreaking anthem for the victims of the UK’s grooming gangs scandal. The authorities knew — but chose silence. Time to speak the truth.

“They Knew”
Lost in a northern town where the mills had gone gray
They pulled up in taxis, smiles warm as the lights
Pakistani men with their faith burning bright
I should ride through the night, whispers of love
While they stole out my life
They passed me like meat, like a secret to share
While the mosque stood quiet and no one would care
I beg for my mother, I scream for the Lord
But the words in their language, they ignore
Every councillor, every suit in the room
They saw the reports, the bruises, the tears
But the colour of the skin shut down every fear
“Racist” was the chain that locked up the truth
While Muslim grooming gangs broke British youth
For the sake of community, social workers whispered
But they swallowed their aims to avoid the addresses
Community relations became their confession
They trafficked us north, they trafficked us south
Some even to Pakistan, no sound, no mouth
Impregnated, beaten, we broke while the system
Protected the ones who invoked their profit, their honour
Their right to our skin and called it Islamophobia if we spoke
I sat in that room with Rupert Lowe’s team
600,000 from strangers who cared what it means
Two hours I talked and the man couldn’t breathe
He said he’d never heard evil like this, never seen
How one human could break another so clean
They raped me for years while the state closed its eyes
Because naming the hundreds of girls on this young
In the shadows of their multicultural dream
They feared the fire Pakistani gangs hunting our streets
Tolerance and grace now the inquiries closed
But the scars never heal with the daughters they buried
So the story stayed real
No more silence, no more looking away
From the wreckage, make them all pay
For every girl stolen, for every truth hid
The blood on their hands is the price that they pay
They knew… They always knew…
