Support the Open Letter: Urge Governors Abbott and DeSantis to Investigate Sharia-Supremacist Mosques and Pause New Construction

Thirty-three leaders of patriotic organizations across the country have released an open letter to Governors Greg Abbott of Texas and Ron DeSantis of Florida. The letter commends both governors for designating the Muslim Brotherhood and its American front group, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), as terrorist organizations. It then calls on them to take the next necessary steps: investigate whether mosques tied to the Brotherhood and other Sharia-supremacist networks are functioning as “critical infrastructure for jihad,” and declare a temporary moratorium on approving any additional mosques in their states until those investigations are completed.
The letter argues that the steady expansion of Islamic societies, Islamic centers, and other mosques linked to these networks is not merely a matter of religious accommodation. Drawing on the Muslim Brotherhood’s own secret 1991 document, the Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal of the Group in North America, the signatories note that the Brotherhood has long described its work in America as a “Civilization-Jihadist Process” aimed at “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within.” The same document states that the role of the centers the Brotherhood controls should be “the same as the ‘mosque’s’ role during the time of God’s prophet” when he “marched to ‘settle’ the Dawa” in Medina — a period that included preparation for and support of military campaigns.
The letter points to a growing number of public statements by imams, Brotherhood front-group leaders, and Sharia-supremacist politicians that appear to confirm seditious intentions. It argues that public safety and national security may be at risk from some, if not all, of the existing facilities, and that this possibility must be investigated as a matter of the utmost urgency. While those investigations proceed, the signatories state that moratoriums on the approval and construction of any additional mosques in Texas and Florida “would be required.”
The letter is clear that the governors have already taken an important step by designating the Brotherhood and CAIR as terrorist organizations. Enforcing those designations, ending the organizations’ operations in their states, and examining the physical infrastructure they have built are presented as the logical and necessary next actions.
Key excerpts from the letter:
“We want to thank you for your leadership in designating the Muslim Brotherhood and its American front group called the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) as what they are: terrorist organizations. In light of the threat these sharia-supremacist organizations represent, it is vital that your designations be enforced and their operations ended in your respective states.”
“That is especially true given the critical infrastructure of jihad they have been creating in both Texas and Florida, and in much of the rest of the country. That infrastructure includes what the Brotherhood brands as ‘Islamic societies’ or ‘Islamic centers,’ but are more generically described as ‘mosques.’”
“It is indisputably the case that more of them are being approved and constructed every month, especially in your states which have been targeted by the Brothers in their campaign of stealthy ‘civilization jihad.’”
“Needless to say, while such investigations are underway in Texas and Florida, moratoriums on the approval and construction of any additional mosques in your states would be required.”
The letter also directs readers to BanSharia.com resources that document the historical role of mosques in preparing for and supporting jihad, including a short micro-documentary and related webinars.
What you can do
Read the full open letter and review the list of signatories. Contact Governor Abbott and Governor DeSantis to express support for investigations into Brotherhood-linked and other Sharia-supremacist mosques, and for a pause on new approvals until those reviews are complete. Share the letter with others who are concerned about the growth of this infrastructure in Texas, Florida, and elsewhere in the country.
The signatories represent patriotic organizations from across the United States. Their message is that designating the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR as terrorist organizations was an important start — and that the next step is to examine the facilities they and their allies have built, and to halt further expansion while that work is underway.
